The Institute of Agricultural Technologies began functioning on April 1, 1972 as the Faculty of Agriculture. Originally there were three departments. The Faculty of Agricultural Technologies was established on the basis of the Faculty of Agriculture in December 1996. In 2002 it became the Institute of Agricultural Technologies.
At present the Institute is training specialists in the following areas: "Agriculture", "Zootechnology", "Technology of making and processing agricultural products", "Agroengineering", "Animal food products, "Study of Merchandise".
The Institute consists of five departments: the department of general agriculture, plant-growing, agricultural chemistry and plant protection; the department of the technology of storing and processing plant products; the department of the mechanization of producing and processing agricultural products; the department of the technology of producing animal products; the department of the technology of meat and dairy products.
