The Faculty prepares highly qualified specialists for the operation of electric power plant in the various enterprises. The scientific direction of the faculty is power industry and electrical engineering.

Currently, the faculty successfully provides industrial, agricultural production and enterprises of the electric energy profile with highly qualified engineering personnel, developing and creating rational methods of operating electrical installations, saving energy resources, and using efficient means of diagnosing of the electric power plants. Students take an active part in scientific research, the results of scientific research are being introduced at the enterprises of the Mari El Republic.

There are Department of Power Supply and Technical Diagnostics, Department of Electromechanics.
