LINGVA TERRITORY AT MARI STATE UNIVERSITY

The festival with such name took place at Mari State University on February 21. The date was selected not accidentally as the International Mother Language Day is celebrated on this day. Considering the fact that the representatives of 30 countries study at the University, each student has native language. The festival is the best place where you can demonstrate the beauty of native language, originality of traditions and customs.
A journey through unique linguistic world may be endless, but native language is the main thing for everyone. That is why the important task of the festival became promoting interest to studying foreign and national languages.
- One of the basic values of the University is friendship between peoples, and such events become, on the one hand, a platform for the broadcasting national culture, on the other hand, symbol of international friendship, noted rector of the University Mikhail Shvetsov.
For the period of the festival the Universitys lecture halls turned into a real LINGVA-territory. The representatives of the Russians, the Mari, the Tatars, the Udmurts, the Turkmen, the Tajiks, the Armenians, the Azerbaijani, the Arabs,       the Finnish, the Uzbeks, the Estonians, the French, the Indians, represented today their language and culture.
Whatever introduced students to the audience traditional dances, costumes, films about home countries, crash course of studying language, virtual tours, all of it were presented with great love and respect for the culture of other countries.
- What means the festival LINGVA-territory at Mari State University for me? This is a true celebration of linguistic diversity, communication with speakers of different languages, meeting with new friends, shared his impressions Mohamed Lamine Mariko presented the French.
In the evening the closing ceremony of the festival was be held, where all presenters of their native language and culture received certificates.
The Mari State University expresses gratitude to the partners of the festival the Ministry of Culture, Press and Ethnic Affairs of the Mari El Republic, Republican Centre of Mari culture, Republican Centre of Tatar culture, and those who are not indifferent to the native language as a reflection of their history and culture.
