THE RESULTS OF INTERNATIONAL ESSAY CONTEST "DIPLOMACY FOR PEACE" WERE SUMMARIZED AT MARI STATE UNIVERSITY

At Mari State University were summarized the results of International Essay Contest "Diplomacy for Peace" dedicated to the Diplomatic workers' day. The event was organized by the Department of Intercultural Communication of the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication of Mari State University together with the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola.
Three topics were suggested for students reflection, such as Although only a few may originate a policy, we are all able to judge it (Pericles), People suffer if the Strongs are at enmity (Phaedrus by Plato), and Love all other peoples like your own (V. Solovev), which was aroused the greatest interest.
The judges consisted of the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola Larisa Polushina, the Third Secretary of the Representation of the MFA of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola, Candidate of Philological Sciences Andrei Utyatin, the director of Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication of the Mari State University, Candidate of Historical Sciences Rodion Ivanovich Chuzaev, the Head of the Department of Intercultural Communication, Candidate of Philological Sciences Nadezhda Krasnova, and Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences Anna Filatova.
75 secondary school students from Russia and CIS countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan) participated in the contest.
Based on historical facts and the works of great philosophers, historians, writers and poets dedicated their works to the theme of international friendship, the authors presented their thoughts on this issue. The individuality and argumentativeness confirmed by the facts of history and modern life, and links to the authoritative opinion of diplomats and politicians.
The Chairman of judges Larisa Polushina highly appreciated students essay, their ability to express their thoughts correctly and creatively.
Particular attention was drawn to the work of students from Moldova, Kazakhstan and Russia, who sent the greatest number of essays, and also demonstrated their involvement in the issue of interethnic tolerance.

Kirill Khudoeshko (Group 33, Educational Institution The College of Linguistics and Humanities at the Minsk State Linguistic University, Minsk, the Republic of Belarus).
