Scientific Director of the Institute of Systemic Neurosciences at La Timon Hospital in Marseille visited Mari State University

From February, 8 to 9 Doctor of Biological Sciences, Scientific Director of the Institute of Systemic Neurosciences at La Timon Hospital in Marseille Petr Dmitriyevich Brezhestovsky gave lectures at Mari State University in Russian and English for students of the Faculty of Medicine.

Petr Dmitrievich, a neuroscientist, is the author of more than 150 publications in international journals, the total number of quotations exceeds 7,500! The professor made the most important discoveries in the field of neurophysiology. Leading research teams and laboratories in Russia and France, Brezhestovsky is recognized as the most quoted French scientist. His scientific works became classical and are comprised in textbooks on the Physiology of the nervous system.

The enrollment in medical specialties at the Supporting Mari State University was opened relatively recently - in 2014, but even in such a short time the Medical School of MarSU gained wide popularity at the Russian and international level. Medical students, during 5 years of existence of the Institute of Medicine and Natural Sciences, and then the Medical School, became winners and prize-winners of All-Russian Olympiads and Universiades for many times, competing with the most famous medical universities of the country. The Medical School is one of the youngest departments at Mari State University, but the achievement of such significant results gives hope for further development, as also evidenced by the arrival of such a famous and respected worldwide scientist as Peter Brezhestovsky.

And I would like the Medical School of this university to rise to the level of the country's oldest Medical Schools. ”

At Mari State University, French scientist Peter Brezhestovsky will give lectures in Russian and in English, in which, no doubt, he will reveal the secrets of functioning and the structure of the human brain to future highly qualified doctors.
