Informational seminar “Current Problems of EU-Russia relations”

The presentation of Associate Professor A.E. Fominih was devoted to the issues of the environmental and climate policy of the EU, the course of the European Union to build a "carbon-free" economy and the strengthening of "Green" parties and movements in the political life of Europe.

Associate Professor E.V. Suslov highlighted the problems of populism – one of the defining features of the EU political landscape, claiming the status of "role model" to the democratic system. Associate Professor G.S. Tsvetkova analyzed the economic component of EU-Russia relations, paying special attention to trends in changes in the volume and structure of export-import operations.

The speakers stressed that the difficult foreign policy context of our country's relations with the European Union dictates the need for high-quality applied analytical studies of European issues for a better understanding of the phenomenon of European integration and building equal partnership relations with the EU. This task will have to be solved by future diplomats, businessmen, economists, and experts in the field of humanitarian cooperation — the mantles that will be taken by the current international students of MarSU.
