Profile classes will be opened in the schools of Yoshkar-Ola with the support of Mari State University and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Mari El
Mari State University has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Mari El to create profile classes.
The task of this agreement will be the organization of psychological and pedagogical orientation classes within different profiles in the implementation of programs of secondary general education. Creation of such classes will help to solve the problem of teacher training for the educational system of the Republic of Mari El. The main goal of the agreement is to attract professionally motivated students to the teaching profession. In the current half-year the profile classes will be opened on the basis of two educational institutions of Yoshkar-Ola - secondary school № 7 and secondary school № 1. In the long term it is planned to connect other schools of the city to the program as well.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Mari El Republic within the framework of the agreement will work out such issues as: holding meetings on the agreement, formation of the necessary number of teaching classes, organization of informing, development of documents, etc. Mari State University will undertake methodological support of pedagogical classes, organization of professional development courses, career guidance activities, etc.

At present 13 faculties and institutes train 9000 students in 100 specialities in natural sciences, agrarian and humanities, medicine, economics and management, digital technologies, pedagogy, law, physics and mathematics, culture and the arts. For many years Mari State University has been closely cooperating with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Mari El, implementing programs to develop human resources, modernize the republic's industrial complex and increase the effectiveness of economic growth mechanisms.
Let us remind you that Mari State University already has big experience in creation of profile classes at secondary schools. A program of engineering-oriented profile classes has been successfully implemented for several years at Lyceum No. 28 and Bauman Lyceum. These projects help not only to fill the staff shortage, but also contribute to the development of a continuous system of education, which provides for interaction between school, university and production itself.
