On September 12-13, 2025, the All-Russian School for Young Scientists "MitoROS" was held at Mari State University, dedicated to the fundamental and applied aspects of mitochondrial and oxidative stress research. The event brought together leading specialists in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and biomedicine from scientific centers across Russia.

From September 6 to 11, Mari State University became a hub of beauty, talent, and cultural diversity, and yesterday, the grand finale of the competition took place at the Youth Palace of the Mari El Republic!

The new academic year officially began at Mari State University. Hundreds of students, from freshmen to graduates, celebrated the start of the new academic year during the traditional Knowledge Day.

It is with the aim of finding common ground and creating a solid foundation for future discoveries that Konstantin Belosludtsev, Vice-Rector for Innovative Development of Mari State University (MarSU), is on a working visit to Qingdao, People's Republic of China. This trip, packed with meetings and negotiations, marks a crucial strategic step in the internationalization of Mari State University and its integration into the global scientific community.

The compound belongs to the class of 2-alkyltriphenylphosphonium derivatives of 10H-phenothiazine. Despite its complex chemical name, its action can be described quite simply: it selectively targets tumor cells while leaving healthy cells virtually unharmed. This precision is achieved through the unique structure of the molecule, which combines a phenothiazine fragment and a triphenylphosphonium group. This combination allows the compound to target the tumor cells' weak point—their mitochondria, which act as their energy centers—and disrupt their function.

Students of the English-Chinese program at MarSU's Faculty of Foreign Languages successfully completed an intensive language and cultural internship in Shanghai. The program included not only classes at the local university but also a deep immersion in Chinese culture.

During the visit to the Republic of Mari El by Venkateshwar Vinay Kumar, Minister of Education and Public Welfare of the Embassy of India in Moscow, Mari State University, which has been successfully implementing education export programs for more than ten years, signed a memorandum of understanding with Max Healthcare LLC, one of the largest medical organizations in India.

The ceremonial graduation of the students of Preparatory Faculty took place at Mari State University. This year, 57 future students from different parts of the world successfully completed their studies: Zimbabwe, Cote d'Ivoire, Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Indonesia and other countries.
