  Research topics Increasing the duration of a healthy (active) human life is one of the main challenges of modern biomedical science. The formation of new knowledge in the field of molecular genetic mechanisms of pathologies contributes to a fundamental understanding of pathologies and the implementation of various ways to correct diseases.
  Currently, the university has several biomedical laboratories: the laboratory of molecular bioenergetics, the laboratory of cell biology, molecular genetics, the laboratory of pharmacological resistance and the laboratory of genome editing.
  The consortium "Medical and Biological Cluster of the Republic of Mari El" was created by combining existing laboratories and opening new research laboratories based on the university and partners — healthcare organizations of the Republic of Mari El, as well as the invitation of leading domestic and foreign specialists, allows us to develop new safe (including genetic) mechanisms for protecting cells, organs and tissues of the human and animal body from cardiovascular, oncological and orphan diseases (in particular, hereditary muscular dystrophies of various etiologies), as well as new methods of early diagnosis of pathologies

  Research topics
  The University is actively developing the scientific field "Energy and electrical engineering" — diagnostics of high-voltage electric power equipment, development of methods and means of technical diagnostics of electrical installations with a voltage above 1000 V. Devices and diagnostic tools for power transformers developed as part of the research were presented at international and national exhibitions, and were awarded diplomas and medals. Now the field of scientific interests has expanded, research is being conducted in the field of non-traditional and renewable energy sources, small power generation, quality of electric energy, etc.
