Archeological-ethnographical Research Centre

The center for archeological and ethnographical research consists of four departments - "Prehistoric Archeology Department", " Medieval Archeology Department ", "Ethnology Department", "Volga Archeological Expedition".

The head of the Center is Zeleneyev Yuriy Anatolyevich.

Fields of activity:

• research in the field of Ethnic studies and Spiritual culture of the Volga region folks
• informational support of archaeological research
• archaeological and ethnological expeditions on the territory of Mari El, Kostroma, Penza, Nizhniy Novgorod, Volgograd regions and Kazakhstan. 

The Centre explores the world famous archeological monuments, such as the capital of the Golden Horde-Saray Al-Jedid, etc. All works are carried out together with the leading scientific centers of Russia. The Center publishes research papers and monographs, participates in international, national and regional conferences.
