On October 12-13, MGIMO hosted PRIORITY FEST 2023, a festival of the best practices of participating universities and candidates of the "Priority 2030" program.

The regular examination session has been completed. Most students have passed it on time with good and excellent marks. However, unfortunately, the session has also led to the expulsion of some students. Some students stopped paying attention to their main duty at the university - their studies.

On May 24, 2011 Mari State University and the regional branch of the Association "Russian Historical Society" in the Republic of Mari El signed an agreement on cooperation.

On May 19th the Faculty of Law of Chuvashia State University named after I. N. Ulyanov held a regional contest "Soft Skills of a Lawyer" among law students and schoolchildren.

On May 14, 2022 for the fourth time the voluntary educational action "All-Russian Chemical Dictation" was held all over Russia. The event was organized by the Faculty of Chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Prosveshchenie Group of Companies, and the Association of Chemistry Teachers.

The All-Russian Forum "Wealth of Finno-Ugric Peoples" traditionally took place in the middle of May. The event, held on May 12-13 within the walls of Mari State University, was the ninth in a row and united students from the Republics of Mordovia, Udmurtia, Komi, Mari El, Tatarstan and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

On May, 07th, 2022 in "Vityaz" soccer complex a soccer tournament dedicated to the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War was held.

The expedition took place from April 23 to May 7 in the Kirovsky region of the Leningrad region near the tract Vinyagolovo. The team from the Republic of Mari El consisted of 11 searchers from the Mari State University team "Resurrection" and one soldier from the team "Defender" from the city of Volzhsk. It's not by chance that the Mari searchers for the 9th time choose the Leningrad region as the place for expedition: thousands of Soviet soldiers from the Mari land fought in the North-West direction. During the years of the Great Patriotic War the losses of the Red Army were enormous here - there will be enough work for the searchers for many years.

May 14, 2022 at 13:00 Moscow time there will be a Russian educational event "IV Russian Chemical Dictation". The theme of the dictation: "Chemistry - the light of science through the glass of life". Dictation participants will have 45 minutes to answer 25 questions of varying difficulty level. To answer correctly, special scientific knowledge is not required - it is only important to speculate a little, to remember a few examples from life, and, most importantly, to think logically.

From March 28 to April 20, 2022 for the first time the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication hosted an internal university competition on local history "MariEl#Mari El" with the participation of foreign students.

For many years Mari State University has been successfully cooperating with major scientific centres and enterprises of Russia. One of these organizations is the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (National Research University), a leading technical university in the country, which is included in the prestigious rankings of the best universities in the world. In 2022, a new network education programme "Modern Long-Range Radar Systems" was presented at the MarsU Institute of Digital Technologies; it is implemented jointly with MIPT.

The Olympiad of Russian language for the students of non-language and language training areas was held from April 19 to 28. It was organized by the Department of Russian language, literature and journalism of Institute of Philology and Humanities. 379 students of Mari State University participated in the Olympiad.

On April 22, 2022 the XIV All-Russian Forum "Vivat, France! Dinara Khakimova, a student of the Faculty of Law at Mari State University, is a prize-winner of the International Conference of the O.E. Kutafin University (Moscow State Law Academy). Dinara won the section "Competition law as a complex branch of law" at the XXI International Conference of Young Scientists "Traditions and innovations in the system of modern Russian law".

Intelligent technology with automated systems for remote control and certain tasks can be found in homes and flats more and more often. The functionality of the system is quite extensive: it controls the heating, ventilation, lights, alarm function, temperature and humidity control, and much more, all through a mobile phone or voice assistant.

On April 13-15, 2022 students of Mari State University Medical Institute took part in the 25th Anniversary International Student Medical Historical Conference which was conducted in the framework of IX International Youth Scientific Medical Forum "White Flowers". Altogether more than 1200 students took part in the Forum, according to the organizers.

On April 20 the VI All-Russian theoretical and practical conference "International Humanitarian Cooperation: New Challenges and Opportunities" started its work at Mari State University. For the sixth year in a row, the event is held with the support of the Representative Office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Yoshkar-Ola and participation of the Mari regional branch of the Russian Association of Political Science (RAPS).

On the 15th of April, 2022 in the building "P" of Mari State University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation was held the Olympiad, dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the Russian Emperor Peter I, organized by the Department of National History.

In connection with the current situation, Mari State University took part in the collection of humanitarian aid for the brotherly peoples. By common efforts were collected things of prime necessity, including money, more than 100 thousand rubles. These funds were used to buy material goods (food, personal hygiene items, stationery, etc.), which were later transferred to the Regional Headquarters of the #MyWorld campaign in the Republic of Mari El at the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Mari El "The Palace of Youth".

In April, Mari State University became one of the leading regional venues of the first stage of a new project of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) "League of the Future", which aims to gather and implement the best ideas and projects of the young generation of Russians.

Mari State University celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2022. It is truly a proven classic. Fifty years ago Yoshkar-Ola became a university city. During these years much has been done to ensure that the younger generation receives quality higher education: new faculties and educational profiles have been created, new study and living areas, equipped laboratories and high-tech centres have been opened. Today, Mari State University comprises 13 faculties and institutes, 9,000 students, over 100 specialities in various fields of knowledge.

Students of Mari State University have become winners and prize-winners of the III International Competition of Media Projects - Book Trailers "Country of Chitalia - 2022".

The lecturers of the Philosophy and Socio-Cultural Technology Department and second year students studying in the field of "Museology and protection of cultural and natural heritage objects (profile): Technology of museum and sightseeing activities" of the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication prepared a virtual photo exhibition with the results of the university students contest "PHOTO-PRO-MUSEUM".

The most anticipated event of the spring kicked off on April 4. The Festival of Creativity was opened by the Faculty of Economics with a programme called "Through the Cherry Tree Branches".

From February 4 to March 30, Mari State University held an intramural university competition "LEADERS OF MARSU - 2022".

Students of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy and the Faculty of History and Philology of Mari State University took third place at the final stage of the IQ PFD Volga Federal District Intellectual Olympiad in Saransk. For the first time in the seven-year history of the tournament the "What? Where? When?" team from Mari El managed to enter the top three teams.

On March 29, the "Boiling Point" held a seminar on "Stop Fake: Counteracting Technology", dedicated to the types and characteristics of disinformation in the media space.

On March 24, 2022 a case-study championship in philosophy and methodology of science was held for undergraduates. On this day the teams of masters had not only to immerse themselves in a number of situational tasks, but also to demonstrate the ability to discuss, analyze information and make a reasoned decision.

On March 21-22, 2022 a team of students of Medical Institute of Mari State University participated in the XI Volga Region Student Olympiad in Surgery, which took place in Perm, Russian State Medical University named after Academician E.A. Wagner. The participants of Olympiad were 3-6 year students of medical and pediatric faculties of Volga Region universities.

It is one of the most ancient spring holidays. It is celebrated on March 21, the day of the vernal equinox, and is considered to be a favorite holiday in many countries of the Eurasian continent.

HOLI Festival of Colours is an Indian folk festival celebrating the arrival of spring. The sweetest tradition of Holi celebration is to sprinkle one another with colored paints.

Finally, the full-scale Open House Day became a reality again, where the students of general and professional educational institutions of Mari El and their parents could get acquainted with the student life of the supporting university: they listened to lectures of teachers and scientists, stories of students-activists, visited classrooms, laboratories and museums.

In February 2022 a district competition "My way to science" was held. Its purpose was to create conditions for the implementation of the research potential of students, the development of interest in the study of psychological disciplines, motivation to master key competencies.

The regional stage of the Intellectual Olympiad of the Volga Federal District is over. The competition was  held in February and March 2022 in six disciplines: Robotics, Parliamentary Debate, What? Where? When?, Programming, Managerial Jousts and Engineering Team Competition.

In March, the management of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations approved the lists of projects submitted for financing under the program "UMNIK". The selection was carried out on regional selection platforms. More than 900 students from all over Russia were among the winners, including Alexandra Ivanovna Averina, a student of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Mari State University (tutor - Nikolay Vladimirovich Kashirin, head of the youth science and innovation design center "Spektrum").

On March 14, the Russian Znanie Society launches the Smart Route, an educational lecture project in which experienced professionals from various fields will share their knowledge, experience, and inspiring success stories with young people. In one year Smart Route will visit over 130 cities and will cover every region of Russia. 

On March 6 and 7, as a part of its tour around the country, the Mari opera and ballet theatre named after E. Sapaev hosted a concert of the Russian national show "Kostroma" where the pictures of the great past are brought to life through the stories of dance about different eras of the country, its heroes, immutable traditions and fairy tales. The show presents the history of our multinational state and the life of its peoples, and touches upon such fundamental historical events as the adoption of Christianity in Russia, the era of Tsarist and pre-revolutionary Russia, the establishment of Soviet power and the first flight into space.

The Mari State University Centre for Accreditation and Simulation Training hosted the first class of students of medical classes opened at Baumansky Lyceum as part of the university days. The session was conducted for the children by the director of the centre Victor Nikitin. The students practiced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques and got acquainted with the equipment of the centre, on the basis of which they are planning to take an extended practical course.

There was held the annual Championship of the Republic in chess among men, which lasted 9 days and consisted of 9 rounds. Chess marathon-2021 ended with the victory of Ilya Bogatyrev - trainer of the Chess School Sergey Karyakin! According to the results of the contest he got 7.5 points out of 9 possible.

On September 7 in Moscow there was an award ceremony of the program "Waste management school: Electronics" among the Moscow health care and educational institutions as well as Russian universities within the framework of the 13th International Exhibition and Forum on Waste Management, Environmental Technology and Ecology "WasteTech". Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot use the insulin it produces effectively. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 415 million people worldwide have diabetes. Without proper interventions, this number, an increase to 551.8 million people with diabetes by 2030.

The competition is a special open track of the Russian national award "Student of the Year", which will be held from November 26 to 30 in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.

Associate Professor Konstantin Belosludtsev and Associate Professor Mikhail Dubinin from the Institute of Natural Sciences and Medicine took advanced training to learn practical skills for working with the CRISPR/Cas9 mammalian cell genome editing system.

On October 20 there was a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Mari El to consider the work "Integrated study of the ecological state of a specially protected natural area", performed by scientists of Mari State University at the expense of the republican budget. More than 2000 foreign students from 43 countries of the world study at MarSU at this moment. In 25 regions of the country the fourth stage of the educational project "Farmer's school" has started. It is the largest joint project of Russian Ministry of Agriculture and Rosselkhozbank. In 9 of them, including Mari El, the School opened its doors for the first time. With new regions joining the project, its total geography has grown to 50.

A press conference dedicated to the start of the fifth season of the student Olympiad "I am a Professional" was held at the MIA "Russia Today".
