LINGVA-TERRITORY - all the wealth of cultures, languages and traditions

"LINGVA Territory is a unique platform where representatives of various nations and confessions can share their linguistic experience with each other, demonstrate the beauty and richness of all components of their culture including national costumes and dishes, historical features of formation, folk festivals and beliefs.

There are more than 160 peoples living in Russia. This is hundreds of traditions and customs, this is a huge wealth of cultural values, a variety of languages. Students from 60 regions of Russia and 2,300 international students from 45 countries of the world currently study at Mari State University alone. All of them are the most important part of the ecosystem of Yoshkar-Ola and the Republic of Mari El, directly influencing various spheres of life of the population and contributing to cultural integration.

This year, more than 20 native speakers of the Mari language and the coloring of those peoples who live on the territory of the Republic, prepared various ethno lessons and master classes in the online format, introduced the guests and residents of the region to the Mari language and the coloring of those peoples. Listeners learned about popular modern languages and got to know exotic ones. Such cultural exchange helps to enrich the cultures of different nations, strengthens friendships and gives rise to mutually beneficial cooperation in the future.

To support their mother tongue, to understand the values of the world cultures, to make new friends and discover something new - all these unique opportunities were given to the participants of the festival "LINGVA-Territory".

- One of the University's core values is friendship between peoples, and these events, on the one hand, become a platform for translation of national culture, and on the other hand, a symbol of international friendship, - said Rector of Mari State University Mikhail Shvetsov.

We remind that in September 2021 Mari State University passed competitive selection and became one of 106 universities participating in the Priority 2030 Strategic Academic Leadership Programme, under which the university will implement strategic projects, one of which aims at development of territorial ecosystem. The export of educational services involving the education of international students has a direct positive impact on the city and the republic as a whole. That is why it is so important to hold such events that unite and enrich intellectually and culturally the inhabitants of different cultures, languages and religions.
