At the Faculty of Law of the Mari State University inaugurated the lecture hall named after Romanov. V.I. Romanov
On November 26, at the Faculty of Law of Mari State University a named classroom named after Romanov was opened. V. I. Romanov.
The solemn opening was attended by deputy chairman of the Supreme Court of the RME German Popov, deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Mari El Pavel Shamov, the head of department to ensure the participation of prosecutors in criminal cases in courts Elena Dyrda, deputy head of department to ensure the participation of prosecutors in criminal cases in courts Elena Voronchikhina, rector of Mari State University Mikhail Shvetsov. The grand opening of the named lecture hall was a part of the preparation for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Mari State University, which will take place in 2022.
In 1964 Valery Iosifovich became the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Mari ASSR. In 1972 he defended his candidate thesis and became the Candidate of Juridical Sciences. The year before that, he was appointed the Minister of Justice of the Mari ASSR, and remained in that position until 1986.
During the collapse of the USSR, in 1990, Romanov successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Lomonosov Moscow State University and became the first person in the Republic of Mari El, who was awarded the degree of doctor of law.
Valery Romanov went to work at the Mari State University in 1986: he became a senior lecturer at the Department of the History of the CPSU; then, in 1992, he took up the position of professor at the same department. Subsequently, he took the position of Head of the Department of Private Law of Russia and Foreign Countries. It was he who initiated the creation and was the first Dean of the Faculty of Law at Mari State University.
