On the threshold of Mari Written Language Day (Mari tishte keche) scientific-methodological seminar "Mari lexicology and preventing excessive use of borrowed words in spoken and written speech" ("Current problems of Mari lexicology") took place.

During the event an important and significant event took place - the signing of the agreement between the Mari State University and the Mari Research Institute of Language, Literature and History named after V. M. Vasiliev. V. M. Vasiliev Mari State University on cooperation in the field of joint research and technological activities. Rector Mikhail Shvetsov and Evgeny Kuzmin, Director of Mari State University, agreed on new opportunities for multilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. The parties aim to develop promising research in the field of information technologies and fundamental sciences.
