Address of the Academic Council of Mari State University!

The main mission of Mari State University is preservation and multiplication of the intellectual potential of the Republic of Mari El and Russia as a part of global educational space. Our goal is, first of all, education and upbringing of young people, the university's student family, for which we bear special responsibility.

Today, we continue to realise our mission in a challenging environment. A special operation of demilitarisation and denazification is underway in Ukraine. This is a forced and difficult decision. On the other side are close and friendly people who have been held hostage by the aggressive policies of the Maidanauthorities. There was no alternative to the decision taken.

The special operation is exclusively peacekeeping in nature and is designed to eliminate a military threat which is extremely dangerous for the republics of Donbas and our country. We did not start the war, we are ending it.

In this difficult period, we must become even more united, support our relatives and friends, help them in everything. Support is also needed for our President, who has made the only right decision in this situation.

We are part of the great country, its present and future. We are part of one big multinational world. During the Great Patriotic War our fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers fought and died together with other nations for the freedom of millions of inhabitants of various countries. The memory of this feat must not be forgotten or distorted. We are for a world without Nazism!

Our contribution to our country and to the world today is to continue to live, to teach, to educate, to work and to create a future. A future that we shape together, that we can influence with our actions here and now!
