Russian language day
Every year on June 6, Russian Language Day is celebrated in Russia on the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, the founder of the modern Russian literary language.
To celebrate this event in the Pushkin Square in Yoshkar-Ola the lovers of Russian literature and the poet and writer gathered to recite poems, recall interesting facts from the life of Alexander Sergeyevich and express their views on the significance of his literary works, not only in the context of the country's history, but also in their own lives.
The event was attended by city residents of all ages, including international students of Mari State University, who demonstrated their high level of proficiency in Russian.
