Erudites and intellectuals of Mari State University become best in the region

The best students in debates were chosen during the competition, which took place on February 25. In real verbal battles, students of our university managed to take the podium:

1st place - Mikhail Yakovlev

2nd place - Marina Toropova

3rd place - Daniil Latyuk, Ivana Rostovtseva (MOSI).

The team competition in the "What? Where? When?" discipline took place on February 28. Eight teams from Mari State University, PSTU, Moscow Aviation Institute and Medical College took part. The teams had to answer 36 questions, 12 in three rounds. The team of our university coped with the task better than others, thus, all three sets of medals went to them:

1st place - Lech League

2nd place - WEST-FIL

3rd place - Glorious Girlfriends

After the competition the captain of the winning team "Lech League" Anna Taratkina shared her emotions with us:

"The game was extremely challenging for us as the opponents showed great competition and we didn't manage to make a big lead on points. So we had to be nervous. I'm glad that the team pulled themselves together and got the win. The hardest part lies ahead, the district stage. We will prepare for it especially hard to perform better than we did the last time.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for mid-March, and in the coming days there will be three more disciplines - Programming, Management Matchmaking and Engineering Team Contest. Based on the results of the six competitions, winners will be selected, who will join the delegation of the Republic of Mari El and represent the region at the district stage of the Olympiad, traditionally held in Saransk, the capital of Mordovia, at the end of March.
