On September 7 in Moscow there was an award ceremony of the program "Waste management school: Electronics" among the Moscow health care and educational institutions as well as Russian universities within the framework of the 13th International Exhibition and Forum on Waste Management, Environmental Technology and Ecology "WasteTech". And on December 17, an award ceremony took place in the Republic of Mari El, which was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Environmental Protection.

In just a few months Mari State University collected and recycled more than 25 tons of equipment, thanks to which the university took second place in the program in 2020-2021 and was awarded a letter of thanks from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Mari State University also became the leader in implementation of the program in our region.
The program of the Environmental Management Fund "School of recycling: electronics" is implemented in eleven regions: Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Tambov, Tula, Ivanovo and Volgograd regions, the Republic of Mordovia and the Republic of Mari El. Its goal is to reduce environmental damage from e-waste dumping and to develop skills for separate collection of hazardous waste.
