Mari State University held an educational event "All-Russian Chemical Dictation-2022

On May 14, 2022 for the fourth time the voluntary educational action "All-Russian Chemical Dictation" was held all over Russia. The event was organized by the Faculty of Chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Prosveshchenie Group of Companies, and the Association of Chemistry Teachers.

Mari State University has traditionally acted as an official venue for the dictation.

The event was aimed at popularizing science education and increasing the level of chemical literacy of the population, overcoming "chemophobia" and creating a positive image of chemical science in the public consciousness.

Dictation contestants were to answer 25 questions in 45 minutes on the topic "Chemistry - the light of science through the glass of life. Each task demonstrated the role and importance of chemistry in the life of modern man and society, showing the chemical nature of the world around us. No special scientific knowledge was needed for successful passing of the dictation - it was just necessary to think a little, recall a couple of examples from life and, most importantly, to think logically. Everyone without age restrictions could take the test.

It is pleasant to note that more than 100 students of Mari State University took part in the dictation, and most of them demonstrated a high level of chemical literacy.

Results of the action will be summarized after May 20, 2022. Each participant will be able to find out his or her results in a personal account on the project website
