Mari State University's main polymaths competed for the title of the best at the Intellectual Games Championship

What? Where? When?

The first team discipline, "What? Where? When? Not a single department or institute stood aside, as they all joined in, forming their own teams. The competition consisted of three rounds of ten questions each. However, the tasks were not enough to determine the top three teams. Additional questions were needed, based on the results of which the silver and bronze medals were distributed. The favorite, by the way, was determined from the very first round and only increased its advantage by the end of the game.

1st place - BezDaty (Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy).

2nd place - West Phil (Department of History and Philology).

3rd place - Glorious girlfriends (Faculty of Law)

The second game the number of participants in the team decreased from six to four, because after the "CHGK" was "Rifleman Voroshilov. Wishing to try their hand there were many - ten teams, so it all started with a group phase, according to the results of which six of them made it to the final.

The winner and medalist of the previous discipline - "BezDaty" and "West-Fil" reached the final. For "gold" had to win two in a row. The first round ended in favor of IENiF, but in the second "shootout" of the captains brought victory to IENiF. Nevertheless, in the end, BezDaty was the best.

1st place - BezDaty (Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy).

3rd place - And suddenly? (Faculty of General and Professional Education)

Own game

The only "personal" discipline - "Jeopardy" was the final one in the Championship of Mari State University. Twelve students decided to take an intellectual test-drive and participate. Each game was interesting and intense: no one was "just sitting", everyone tried to answer and was not afraid to make a mistake. Many made their debut in this difficult game, but the victory was snatched by a hardened by years of training and competitions polymath.

1st place - Victor Ovsyannikov (Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy)

3-rd place - Maria Rice (Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy)

Absolute Champions

The students of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy were the absolute winners, who took all the gold medals. In doing so, they repeated the achievement of the Faculty of History and Philology in 2019.

The results of their seven-year performances at the championships were summed up by IENiF student Victor Ovsyannikov, who took three "golds" of three this year.

- I'm glad that I managed to walk away beautifully, becoming the absolute champion in my last year. And I'm also very glad that we have young, smart guys who want to participate, and I hope that they will be the life of KIIS. My admonition to them is to play, and more of them: to learn how to play mind games, just like any other game, you have to play them. I would like to thank Kosha Leshkin, Sergey Zhuravlev, Evgeny Serebryakov and all the participants.
