On November 25, 2021, Mari State University celebrates its 49th anniversary. Almost half a century ago began the history of the first university in the Mari Region, which over the past decades has expanded significantly, transforming into a recognized scientific and educational center of the Volga Federal District and all of Russia.

In September 2021 Mari State University has passed competitive selection and became one of 106 universities-winners of strategic academic leadership program "Priority 2030" - the program, directly influencing the future not only of the education system, but also of the whole Russia.

November 14 is World Diabetes Day, which was established by the International Diabetes Federation together with the World Health Organization in 1991. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot use the insulin it produces effectively. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 415 million people worldwide have diabetes. Without proper interventions, this number, an increase to 551.8 million people with diabetes by 2030.
